Description

I was fortunate to catch the moment this Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) struck at a fish in a roadside pond on the bay side of central Galveston Island, on the gulf coast of Texas. Unfortunately for the egret, it was unsuccessful. A side benefit was the beautiful mosaic of brightly colored reflections of the bright blue sky and the gold and green reeds in the surrounding water.
