This is a cartoonized version of a photograph, "Faithful Fowl," using some bright colors somewhat reminiscent of Van Gogh (at least to me). Note the duck and guinea fowl crossing the road. I had stopped to get a shot of the rear of this country church in the glow of evening light, when two of its feathered parishioners strolled out of the gate and crossed the street in front of me. Maysfield Presbyterian Church, established 1873, Maysfield, Texas.

I prefer the challenge of trying to capture the unpredictable spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring. I started with a Kodak Brownie as a child, but entered the world of real photography with a Canon AE-1 in the late 1970's.
