This Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) baby fell out of its nest on our property. Its parent let me near enough at one point to get this closeup before I placed it back in a tree.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I have always loved to photograph nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer the challenge of trying to capture the unpredictable spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring.
