Description
The once-proud ruins of the historic Matz Farmstead, in rural Dane County, Wisconsin, reflect some of the colors of the late October sunset. The house was built in 1875 by German immigrants, Friedrich Matz and his wife Katharina, and was occupied by their descendants until it burned in 1949. It is now part of the Dane County Halfway Prairie Wildlife Area.
