A Turk's Cap (Malvaviscus drummondii) flower is seen in closeup. The delicate reproductive structures extend far beyond the scarlet petals, showing off the anthers with their pollen grains, the stigma with its fuzzy magenta pompoms, and the spiral stalk of the style. These structures are remarkably similar to those of the hibiscus, to which this plant is closely related, but the blooms are a small fraction of the size of the hibiscus flowers.
