A waterfall of hot spring water descends from a currently active portion of the spring that formed the Cleopatra Terrace, on the northern edge of Mammoth Springs in Yellowstone National Park. Early morning light brings out the gradations of color and natural striations of the mineral deposits. Thermophilic bacteria produce the multi-colored staining on the rock. The sources and volumes of water flow vary over time, and contribute to the slow buildup of mineral salts that make up the beautiful living terraces. Nearby areas that are no longer fed by spring water have turned dull and gray, and are slowly crumbling away.

I started with a Kodak Brownie as a child, but entered the world of real photography with a Canon AE-1 in the late 1970's. I have successfully sold a number of my photographs on Fine Art America, and have been recognized in international photography venues. Poster sized prints of three of my photographs were recently installed in a new medical clinic building in a major Texas medical center.
