Description

Although their closest alignment was yesterday, Venus and Jupiter continued to dance well together over Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir, in Bell County, Texas. The lights of Killeen and Copperas Cove brighten the horizon, and the brilliant glow of the full moon highlights the foreground junipers. Jupiter has moved distinctly downward and farther to the right of Venus since yesterday's capture.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I have always loved to photograph nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer the challenge of trying to capture the unpredictable spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring. I started with a Kodak Brownie as a child, but entered the world of real photography with a Canon AE-1 in the late 1970's. It has now been published on page 121 in a new book, Camerapixo Photography Awards, Volume 01 (http://camerapixo.com/publications/photography-awards-01).
