Description
Here is the first photographic documentation of the newly discovered planet Flora, named after the Roman goddess of flowers, whose name was derived from the Greek goddess, Khloris. The massive flowers produce large amounts of oxygen, as seen by the dense atmosphere. Created from a photograph of a field of sunflowers near Italy, Texas.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I am an opportunist photographer of nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. Although I have done single and group portraits, I prefer the challenge of trying to capture the unpredictable spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring. I started with a Kodak Brownie as a child, but entered the world of real photography with a Canon AE-1 in the late 1970's. I have continued to develop my compositional and post-processing skills and have slowly acquired higher quality equipment. I finally became confident enough to begin posting my work online in September 2012, and have successfully sold several of my photographs.
