Slightly simplified shot of a weekly event at Texas A&M University in the fall. The stands of Kyle Field are crammed with rabid Aggie football fans, all wearing maroon and white, and the students stand for the entire game. The 12th Man tradition holds that these fans help their team like having a 12th man on the field, and it is true. The Aggies beat Louisiana Tech, 31 to 3, on 28 September 2002.
Gary Holmes, photographer: I have always loved to photograph nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer the challenge of trying to capture the unpredictable spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring. I started with a Kodak Brownie as a child, but entered the world of real photography with a Canon AE-1 in the late 1970's. I have successfully sold a number of my photographs on Fine Art America, and have been recognized in international photography venues. Poster sized prints of three of my photographs were recently installed in a new medical clinic building in a major Texas medical center. My photo, "Blue Norther," was selected by the nonprofit Texas Bluebird Society for its 2010...
