Description
A Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) enters a Hitchcockian nightmare, swarmed by marauding Red-Winged Blackbirds (Agelaius phoenicius) after it landed in their roosting tree, in the old cemetery that marks the site of old Port Sullivan, on the banks of the Brazos River in central Texas.
____________________________
I am an opportunist photographer of nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer to capture the spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring, and rarely photograph staged subjects other than portraits. Although I have been a photographer for decades, I continue to study and learn the craft. Long ago, I embraced the hugely expanded opportunities offered by digital photography, but I have only been posting them online since September 2012. As a result, I have now successfully sold several of my works. I will continue to post my very best works on FAA and other sites every day or two, as time permits. Please revisit my sites periodically.

trained birds?
Gary Holmes replied:
These were in the wild, not processed in from another photo. The starlings were trying to scare off the hawk from their roosting tree.
