Description
A cold front with an impressive rain storm brought much-needed rain to Brazos valley cornfields in Milam County. The heavy downpours and the low angle of the sun created dramatically lighted curtains of rain. It made me think of a line from Bob Seger's great song. This photo is one of a series I captured of one of the most beautiful thunderstorms I have ever witnessed, as I drove home through Milam County a few years ago. I am posting the best of my captures together.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I have always loved to photograph nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. Although I have staged single and group portraits and still life photographs, I prefer the challenge of trying to capture the unpredictable spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring. I started with a Kodak Brownie as a child, but entered the world of real photography with a Canon AE-1 in the late 1970's. I have successfully sold a number of my photographs on Fine Art America, and have won several awards, including an Editors' Choice on 500px, as well as a 5-star Editor's Choice designation in Camerapixo's Hot Shots photo magazine, Volume 4.
