It's Christmas Time Again! A cheerful snowman yard ornament celebrates his favorite season, lit by a cluster of trees festooned with Christmas lights in a yard in central Texas. The lights individually glow like white and multi-colored snowflakes. This was the most successful of my first attempts to use a new Rokinon 8mm fisheye lens I acquired recently, and was taken about 30 degrees from vertical. Now that I seem to have figured out how to use this fully manual lens, I really like it and look forward to many future uses.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I am an opportunist photographer of nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer to capture the spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring, and rarely photograph staged subjects other than portraits. Although I have been a photographer for decades, I continue to study and learn the craft.
