Description
Our wrapped, but otherwise unadorned Christmas presents under the tree gained some bling today when ribbons and bows suddenly appeared. In this startling long-exposure, low-light photo, I was able to capture, for the first time, the remaining unattached bows as they desperately scrambled to claim their own packages. Taken with an 8 mm fisheye lens using existing light from the string of Christmas lights in the tree.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I am an opportunist photographer of nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer to capture the spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring, and rarely photograph staged subjects other than portraits. Although I have been a photographer for decades, I continue to study and learn the craft. Long ago, I embraced the hugely expanded opportunities offered by digital photography, but I have only been posting them online since September 2012. As a result, I have now successfully sold several of my works. I will continue to post my very best works on FAA and other sites every day or two, as time permits. Please revisit my sites periodically. I welcome your votes, support and gently constructive criticism or suggestions, all of which help guide me in my photographic odyssey. Nothing makes me happier as a photographer than knowing someone likes one of my works so much that they purchased one. I look forward to hearing from my purchasers about how and where you are using your purchased photograph, and from potential purchasers if you would like to buy something in a format not available on the website.
